In secret, he kills, loots, and destroys the evidence, becoming a fiend of the demonic path.
“When it comes to being a decent person, you have to believe good people are rewarded. So you be the good person, and I’ll be the bad one.”
“This Bodhisattva can bless people with wealth? Then I have to pay my respects!”
That night, the protagonist sneaks into the temple and scrapes three catties of gold off the Bodhisattva’s statue.
“Karma? What karma?”
“I do every wicked thing in private and put on an act in public. That makes me a good person!”
In this life, I seek only to ascend to the heights of the cosmos and prove the eternal Dao.
