A car accident sends a reformer who has just been released from prison back into danger of incarceration. A dancer, carrying a heavy secret for eighteen years, performs a tragic drama that will never reach its final curtain…
A case from eighteen years ago has haunted Ye Ke's father ever since. Eighteen years later, the criminal is finally released, but the victim from that case suddenly dies, and the newly freed convict vanishes.
At the same time, a famous dancer is searching for the recently released convict. The director of the Odette Ballet Company dies unexpectedly, and the principal dancer is attacked. The killer is the very person no one ever suspected, making the case even more baffling.
When the tangled relationships between all those involved come to light before Ye Ke and physicist Cheng Yao, they realize that the deaths are connected to layer upon layer of mysteries they cannot comprehend.
A sacrifice made at any cost leaves a detective hailed as a genius trapped in a labyrinth; a seemingly simple trick leaves a renowned physicist at a loss to understand it.
For those people, being able to keep dancing in the world of ballet matters more than an innocent life.
The story reveals the horror of rumors and prejudice. Inadvertent rumors and one-sided speculation can ruin the lives of innocent people. Be sharp with your words, never blindly follow rumors, remain rational and kind, and fear the truth and life.
The plot of this book is very tight and engaging! I felt like I was involved in a complicated mystery just like Ye Ke. Moreover, the author Wang Mo's depiction of character relationships is very delicate, which made me full of curiosity about each character. Especially when I read about dancers risking everything for ballet, I can really understand their persistence. I have also worked hard for my dreams, so it resonates with me. Looking forward to the development of the story later!
