You in My Memories Are Like Sunshine

Everything within sight belongs to the past.

What we cannot have, we keep longing for. When we finally have it, everything has changed.

We spend our lives missing what we cannot attain.

Always afraid of losing what we have.

The truth is, cherishing what is before us matters most.

Let the past stay in the past.

Better to remember than to meet again.

When we meet again, things will never be as they were.

The youth we can never return to,

let it remain in our hearts!

We are all ordinary, unremarkable people.

There are no grand, earth-shaking stories for us,

only an ordinary beginning

and an ending that comes without a sound.

This person was there throughout the first half of my life,

then quietly left the stage.

It is as if they once existed, and as if they never did.

We are like a capital X:

our paths crossed for an instant, then gradually drifted apart.
