Journey to the West: This Monkey Learns to Take It Easy After Listening to Advice

Sun Dousheng, who transmigrated into the world of Journey to the West, has grown sick of the pilgrimage to fetch the scriptures and is delighted to receive an Advice-Listening System. He hopes to get some encouragement from the all-knowing Zhihu netizens and pull himself together. Who knew he’d discover another way to use the System? “Ding.” “The Advice-Listening System is now bound. Host, please take advice and obediently set out on the journey west.” “Ahem. Question: I’m a newbie monkey who keeps transmigrating into Journey to the West, but I don’t want to fetch the scriptures. Can some netizens talk me into it?” The three highest-rated replies: [You’re down in the dumps and have lost interest in everything. You’re just weak, bro. Try some Kidney Boost.] [Brother Monkey, accept your fate. Stop struggling.] [I suggest you slack off and delay your appearance by three hundred years. Then Buddha will lose patience with you and find someone else to protect Tang Sanzang on his pilgrimage.] The System has adopted the highest-rated suggestions. Will the Host take the advice? “I will.” “First: You receive an Aphrodisiac Pill, a Nine Suns Divine Pill, which boosts your cultivation and tempers your body.” “Second: You are advised to accept your fate and give up resisting.” “Third: Delay your appearance by three hundred years. Once you succeed, the Host will receive the Ancient Great Dao Physique.” “Holy crap, I’m taking off! I, Sun Dousheng, will take control of my own fate. No one can make me fetch those scriptures!”
