The original version of this book, "Liu Gong's Case", is one of a large number of opera manuscripts collected by the Chewang Mansion in Mongolia during the Qing Dynasty. It belongs to the genre of rap and drum lyrics, so there are large sections of drum lyrics in the book, and the whole book is written in prose and rhyme. This set of drum poems contains a number of cases handled by Liu Yong. Each case is as short as three or five chapters and can be as long as more than ten chapters. There are 107 chapters in existence. It seems that they were not copied or composed, or were lost. This book contains chapters up to the ninety-fourth chapter.
