Under the Green Canopy, the Sun Shines Brightest

[Childhood friends + bickering couple + mutual crushes + weiguke]

[Scene One]

The urban management officers are here!

Xiao Ran was about to make a clean getaway, but he never expected to be foiled by a little girl. And it turns out she’s the daughter of an urban management officer?

After moving into a new home, of course he has to greet the neighbors. He knocks on their door with two boxes of fruit, only to find her there. How is that possible?!

And she’s not only his neighbor, but also his classmate. With luck like this, he’d definitely win the lottery!

[Scene Two]

Tang Chu pokes her head out mischievously. “Interested in putting on a play?”

“Since when are you the entertainment committee member?”

“I’m asking for Li Xiaoran.”

He gives a dismissive little laugh.

“He wants to stage Thunderstorm. I’m playing Sifeng. Want to play Zhou Ping?”

“I...” He purses his lips. “Who’d want to be your big brother?”

[Scene Three]

He picks up the scissors and reaches for her long, beautiful hair.

She quickly shields it. “What are you doing?”

“I remember you saying that if you were absent-minded again, I could cut your hair.”

She checks herself over. “But I haven’t forgotten anything.”

“You forgot me...”

[Scene Four]

“Xiao Ran, you liked me all along, didn’t you?”

He gives her a speechless look. “Yeah. And I even confessed. Only an idiot like you wouldn’t get it.”

“? When?”

“I told you: ‘In the shade of green, affection is at its deepest.’”

“I remember now, but what does that mean?”

“Dummy, it’s ‘love’ that’s at its deepest!”
