One dark and stormy night, a young elementary school teacher living far from home is mistakenly summoned by the Black and White Impermanence.
After arriving in the underworld, Li Sisi pieces together the clues and realizes that she may not have reached the end of her allotted lifespan. The two underworld functionaries were drunk on the job and mistook her for a deceased person listed on their summons.
Once she learns the truth, Li Sisi causes an uproar in the underworld, drawing the attention of its ruler, the King of Hell.
In court, Li Sisi’s eloquent little essay “deeply moves” the King of Hell, who makes an exception and appoints her an underworld inspector while she is still alive!
To give the Black and White Impermanence a chance to make amends, the King of Hell assigns them to work under Li Sisi...
Perhaps her mind is no longer quite right after coming to the underworld, because Li Sisi actually plans to bring her relatives, who are still among the living, down to join her after she finishes her probation, so they can share in her good fortune.
To the ghosts of the underworld, this is downright outrageous and utterly deranged!
Anyone who didn’t know the truth might think Li Sisi was so desperate to meet her quota that she was rushing to send her own relatives to their deaths. But if people haven’t had their fill of life in the mortal world, why would they want to attend a relative’s celebratory banquet in the underworld?
As she works to meet her targets in the underworld, Li Sisi encounters humans, gods, demons, devils, ghosts, and monsters... Along the way, all sorts of absurd and hilarious stories unfold!
Hey-hey! I'm here to grade, too. Is this like the class cadres voting for themselves 😂
Looking forward to Li Sisi's growth story The story line doesn't need to be too complicated
