Born into poverty and orphaned, Ouyang Moyu lives with his older brother in their aunt's home. He, too, dreams of becoming a combatant. But after graduating penniless, he faces one setback after another, including bullying and the loss of a friend, and nearly gives up. Then, through a “chance encounter,” he meets a combatant named Xiaosheng, whose gender is hard to discern. At that moment, the wheels of fate begin to turn.
