The Ming Dynasty: The Nation-Wrecking Maggot

The Ming dynasty was the dynasty in which eunuchs inflicted the greatest harm in Chinese history. From Wang Zhen in the early Ming, to Cao Jixiang, Wang Zhi, and Liu Jin in the middle period, and Wei Zhongxian in the late Ming, these powerful eunuchs who brought ruin to the country and suffering to its people all seized control of the government for a time and used it for their own ends. Besides them, Hu Weiyong, Yan Song, Zhu Gao Xu, and others also usurped power and persecuted loyal officials... These great parasites brought immense calamity upon the country, driving the Ming Empire step by step toward decline until it finally fell.
