This book builds a writing framework based on the four dimensions of social quality (socioeconomic security, social cohesion, social inclusion, and social empowerment), analyzes Shanghai's social quality based on data from a large-scale survey of Shanghai residents, and puts forward corresponding policy recommendations. This is the first social quality research work in the country that focuses on cities. Its value lies in its attempt to build a localized social quality index system and conduct a relatively systematic empirical study, which has made useful explorations to promote the in-depth development of social quality research.
