Resolving Border Difficulties: Politics, Society and Ethnicity in Sichuan Kham District in the First Half of the 20Th Century

This book describes an "experiment" to "transform the frontier" in a modern context. The goal of this "experiment" is very clear, which is to find a "suitable position" for the "frontier" and the "minorities" living here in the new national system.
