In Langli City, about 30 miles away from the center of Changsha, there is a Taogong Temple. The main god worshiped in the temple is Tao Zhenren.
Since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Tao Zhenren has gradually developed from a community god to a Hunan provincial god, and his rise and fall have always been related to the strength of local forces in Hunan.
