Returning Geese Over the River

“The wind blows by my ear against the tide, and before my eyes, a line of geese stretches far into the distance.” When they meet again years later, he seems not to recognize him. Shen Yanxing stares at Jiang Zhu in confusion. He never stopped searching all these years, but Jiang Zhu's sudden departure left Shen Yanxing without the courage to keep looking. Watching Jiang Zhu grow more and more timid, Shen Yanxing feels he is nothing like the bright young man he once knew... “If we sit on the rocks and watch the sea, perhaps we'll fall in love with rocks over our heads.” The love they once kept hidden gradually grew, then was suddenly snuffed out. It seemed that only the stones in their hands, impossible to crush, could bear witness to their unwillingness to let go. The reckless things they did again and again in their youth would one day become peaceful memories to look back on beneath the evening sun.
