In the fifth year of Tianyao’s Yunmin era, the Northern Rong have been plotting for years and finally launch a massive invasion south. They execute several generals before the Three Passes and behead countless captured soldiers. Tianyao descends into chaos, and the people everywhere cry out in despair. The Imperial Preceptor, Taixuanzi, personally ascends the sacrificial altar to beg the Heavenly Dao for mercy, but Tianyao is already at the end of its strength. The loss of the three northern provinces only emboldens the Northern Rong army. Wielding long blades and riding hard, they keep pushing south, intent on swallowing all of Tianyao.
