The stories described in the book feel as if they are happening around you, and they feel very real. Li Dalang's thoughts are quite realistic. He doesn't care whether Chuntao is intact, which surprised me. However, Mother Li's considerations are also reasonable. It would not be a good idea if there is any trouble after marrying into the family. This reminds me of my cousin, who had similar concerns when she got married.
