This "London Miscellaneous Notes" is very interesting! Mr. Zhu Ziqing wrote about what he saw and heard in London in such detail that I felt like I was actually there. And he also mentioned that Westerners worship heroes, just like we admire literati. This reminds me of "Congwen's Autobiography", which also uses simple words to depict a picture of life. Mr. Zhu Ziqing's observation is so keen, and the characters and scenery in his paintings are so vivid. I feel like he is like a kind friend who takes me to see a different world. 🤗
