Tales of the Strange: A Joke

I am reminded of Keigo Higashino's "Malice", which also started with a small joke and gradually revealed the shocking truth. After reading it, this book is composed of many short stories. Although there are ghosts inside, the scariest thing is not the ghosts, but the human heart. When reading published books, I often like to read these ghost stories, which I find more interesting and can keep reading. Since I have read too many ghost stories, I can basically guess them. In the first story "Joke", I guessed most of the twists 🤭, but in the end a ghost actually appeared, but I didn't expect it 🍉 The last story has an open ending, which is a bit too sudden.

There is a feeling that I won't know the outcome until I see it to the end. Even if I see the last article, I won't know the outcome. Is this meant to leave suspense for readers to achieve an impressive effect? 🥺 Some chapters made me scared at the beginning, but after the results came out, I felt how scared I was after reading the previous chapters... Not a bad story. Every little story has some elements of human nature that are inherently evil and inherently good. In today's society, most people are the same. They are running around and toiling in order to make a living. They can't get ahead or make money. The distortion of human nature, weaknesses are slowly emerging, and the greed hole is eating away at the essence of kindness little by little.

This novel is actually very exciting. Basically, you can't guess the rest after reading the first part. It's quite attractive! It's just that some of the stories are too short, which I think is a pity and should be written again! Overall good 9.3 Points
