Apocalypse Game: The Background Character Awakens

Jian Dan died because she never found a suitable heart donor. Then she was reborn, returning to the age of ten, and had already survived the crisis that was supposed to kill her.

Thinking of how the world had changed during the decades she’d drifted through it after her death, Jian Dan’s lips curled into a faint smile.

Scene One: In a VIP hospital room, a boy in a hospital gown lounged by the window, his obsidian-black eyes fixed on Jian Dan until she left.

A soft laugh came from behind him, followed by a teasing remark: “What, can’t bear to part with that little girl?”

The boy scoffed. “Qin Mushi, stop assuming everyone’s as perverted as you.”

Scene Two: Qin Mushi noticed the way someone beside him was gazing at a man, practically staring hearts into existence. His lips twitched. “...Are you planning to stop being human?”

The man’s expression was gentle, and he kept smiling as he murmured, “Maybe I was never human to begin with.”
