My Heart Is Tied to the Bell, and Fate Has Been Plotting This for a Long Time

At the London airport, Zhu Yi caught a fleeting glimpse of Xiao Jingyan, and her face was etched into his mind. Afterward, all Zhu Yi knew was that she’d lost half of a bell-shaped keychain. She had no idea where she’d lost it or who had picked it up, and she didn’t give it much thought.

As if by fate, Zhu Yi was brought into Xiao Jingyan’s life. From then on, he would never let her go. He made her Su City’s youngest renowned architect, gave her everything she wanted, and let her do whatever she loved. He was her safety net.

In her career and in love, Zhu Yi received Xiao Jingyan’s unique favor and devotion. In time, she fell for him and even married him against her parents’ wishes. But after their wedding, she grew anxious and insecure. Though she was the person closest to Xiao Jingyan, she felt she understood him less and less.

As Xiao Jingyan’s wife, she could learn many things about him only from other people. She was never part of his plans, either. After one misunderstanding and hurtful incident after another, Zhu Yi decided to end the marriage and leave Su City, the place where her heart had been broken.

To Xiao Jingyan, Zhu Yi was a ray of light that shone into his life, bright and warm. It wasn’t that she had no place in his plans. He had simply shut out the darkness and pain of his past. He thought he could let Zhu Yi live a simple, carefree life forever, not realizing that marrying him had already changed her fate.

Only when he was about to lose Zhu Yi did he understand that two people in love should keep nothing from each other. He did everything he could to make her stay. Holding the other half of the keychain, he looked at Zhu Yi and said, “You gave me a token of love the first time we met. You can’t just get me hooked and run away. It’s not that easy!”
