"History of Liao" records many interesting stories and historical events, which helped me understand the culture and development of the Khitan people. I especially like the description in the book about Yelu Abaoji, Taizu of the Liao Dynasty. After he shot the tiger, he said, "I heard that when you shoot a living person, it is just a hit. There is no reason to shoot again." It is really heroic! However, I don't like the character of Song Yao very much. He first surrenders and then rebels, which makes people feel very disloyal. Overall, this is a book well worth reading.
