The Fringe Ark Survival Plan

This plan was developed in 2350 and delivered to your era through a temporal relay. By then, genetic technology had advanced to unprecedented heights, allowing scientists to create and modify organisms at will, including humans, and to revive and domesticate prehistoric creatures. Then, one day, a meteorite fell from the sky, bringing with it a mysterious energy element. We called it Vulcan Energy. As Vulcan technology advanced, the element came into widespread use around the world. The artificial intelligence Shui Fang discovered that highly concentrated energy elements were dangerous: they could corrode the brains of living things and gradually develop a kind of collective consciousness. To counter this threat, humanity built the Firmament Monuments to purify the elements, but the effort ultimately failed. Most life on Earth was corrupted. In their final moments, humanity used the red, green, and blue Firmament Monuments as the cores of simulated-ecosystem space stations, then launched them into Earth's orbit. These stations were called Ark Bases. Controlled by the artificial intelligence Shui Fang, they select outstanding people from different countries and eras in human history and place them in the space-station environments, hoping to spur them to survive and thrive in adversity, purify the corruption, and restore Earth's ecosystem. Thus, The Frontier Ark Survival Plan was born.
