Siheyuan: Fleeing to Beijing in 1952

Su Jianhua unexpectedly transmigrates into an old siheyuan courtyard, where he finds himself utterly alone and cursed with a fate that brings misfortune: his parents have died. Just when he is about to despair, the misfortune System awakens and grants him mysterious powers. The domineering troublemakers, including Deaf Granny, Yi Zhonghai, Jia Zhangshi, and the battle-hardened Silly Zhu, are punished one after another: a meteor destroys Deaf Granny's house, Yi Zhonghai breaks his leg and weeps, Jia Zhangshi's curse leaves her mute, and Silly Zhu's impulsiveness turns him into a eunuch. Su Jianhua's aura of misfortune terrifies the courtyard's pests. They beg and plead at the top of their lungs, their eyes full of fear and despair, praying to escape this nightmare of unending bad luck.
