Reborn: This Consort Will Claim the Throne

[Reborn to Change Fate] [Ancient Political Intrigue] [Strong Female Lead] [Ascends the Throne] Yuan Jing was the only daughter of the Minister of Revenue, and the emperor granted her in marriage to His Highness Prince Jin. For over a decade of marriage, Prince Jin doted on Yuan Jing. When Prince Jin was made crown prince, Yuan Jing fell gravely ill. Day after day, she lamented that she could not help him ascend the throne and share the realm with him. Busy with state affairs, the crown prince had not visited her once in the nearly eleven months since she fell ill. Then, in the depths of winter, the emperor passed away. An imperial decree of succession declared that the crown prince would ascend the throne in five days. Lin Yilan, the crown prince's favored concubine, told her, "Your Highness, Crown Princess, thank you for all these years of careful planning and for spending your entire fortune to pave the way for the crown prince. Drink this bowl of medicine, and you needn't trouble yourself anymore. I'll take your place as empress." Her personal maid came to report, "Your Highness, the young master drowned in the pond this morning. Also, after investigating, this servant learned that the crown prince has been poisoning you for years. You aren't in poor health. You've been poisoned." The crown prince said, "If she hadn't been so generous to me all these years, I would have finished her off long ago." A single imperial decree of succession cost Yuan Jing and her son their lives. After more than a decade of painstaking effort and careful planning at every turn, she had paved a broad road to success for someone else. Yuan Jing could not accept this! Reborn, she would devote all her efforts in this life to herself... The crown princess died suddenly. The crown prince ascended the throne and made Lin Yilan empress. Yuan Jing was hastily buried under her title of crown princess and posthumously granted the title of Yuan Fei.
