The Mad Little County Magistrate

Lin Kai transmigrates to the ancient Great Yan Kingdom and turns Lanling into a paradise on earth in just five years.

Despite being fabulously wealthy, Lin Kai claims Lanling is so poor it can't afford a thing, and pays no taxes to the court year after year. Suspecting him of falsely reporting disaster conditions, the empress makes a discreet visit to Lanling.

The empress asks, “What is this colorful place?”

Lin Kai replies, “It's a commercial street with gambling, saunas, bathhouses, restaurants, lodging, and more!”

“Then what's that place belching smoke?”

The empress is astonished. “My worthy subject, you are a genius! I pardon you for deceiving the throne. Come back to the capital with me, and I shall appoint you my imperial tutor...”
