When You Look at the Moon

The first time they met her was when she carefully wrapped the kitten in a scarf in the heavy snow. He walked over to her and took the kitten home. Goodbye was at the opening ceremony, when she spoke as a student representative, and he was wondering in the audience what three characters her name was. At the New Year's Day party, he thought, he liked her, he thought, if the mountain doesn't come, then I will go to the mountain, and if you don't come to see me, then I will go to see you. Later, when the fireworks were gone and the whirling branches were swaying in the breeze, he heard her say, "Eric Lin, let's go to the same university." His heartbeat seemed to stop for a beat, and then vibrated rapidly like a drum. In the sky full of snowflakes, in the complete silence, his moon rises for him.
