In 2060, gateways of light began appearing around the world. A flash of light emerged from each one, circled around it for a while, then flew off to parts unknown. After that, hordes of monsters poured out of the gateways, and the apocalypse began.
In Year 5 of the apocalypse, only one country remained on Earth, along with one World Union Organization. They were Blue Star's last survivors and humanity's final hope. For these five years, the World Union Organization had been searching for a way to survive. After five years of research, it reached the following conclusions about the gateways: they were called Demon Realm Gates, passages connecting Blue Star to the Demon Realm. The creatures within were called demons, and each realm had a Demon God. So far, 62 Demon Realm Gates had appeared around the world. Humanity had explored only three of them, and even then, only their outskirts. Despite that, the cost in human lives had been devastating.
But the Demon Realm Gates brought more than just disaster. They also offered abundant resources. Minerals and food from the Demon Realm brought tremendous changes to humanity. Weapons made from its minerals could easily kill demons, while its food greatly enhanced people's abilities in every respect.
In these circumstances, the World Union Organization launched a plan: Project Dawn. The time had come for humanity to strike back.
