“You’re the heartbeat that races wildly beyond my track, impossible to hold back.”
“He’s the only force that makes my heart beat.”
Xu Nian was aloof and cold, keeping everyone at a distance. Jiang Yi was cool, roguishly handsome, free-spirited, and flamboyant. The two had never crossed paths until they unexpectedly met at a debate competition. At first, she thought Jiang Yi was arrogant and shameless, taking advantage and then acting like he’d done nothing wrong. He simply thought she was interesting and unlike anyone else.
A month later.
They walked quietly together. The wind stirred the treetops with a rustle, while the city’s neon lights gradually faded into the distance.
For a few moments, the air was still.
A glimmer of starlight seemed to shine in Xu Nian’s eyes as she smiled. “I think your Chinese really is excellent. No wonder you beat me in the debate.”
At the mention of it, her voice carried an inexplicable hint of coolness and resentment.
Jiang Yi paused, then gave a soft laugh, the faintest curve appearing at the corner of his lips. “From now on, you’ll win every time. I’m not good enough.”
His voice was low and resonant, his posture relaxed and nonchalant.
Reporters crowded around, thrusting out their microphones, all hoping to interview the legendary race car driver and land an exclusive. The man onstage glanced briefly at the crowd, then fixed his gaze on one person.
“People say you’re single. Could you describe the kind of person you like?”
The venue was stuffy. Xu Nian’s bright eyes settled on the person before her, and their gazes met.
Jiang Yi smiled with easy confidence and picked up the microphone.
“I’m not single. The person I love is one of a kind.”
Very pretty, even though it's separated in the middle
