The Great Lie: So That’s How It Is

This is the second volume of A Xia's Love Story. It tells in detail how A Xia's cycle of reincarnation began and what followed... Ten thousand years ago, a scandal took place in the Heavenly Palace. On the eve of her wedding, the youngest daughter of the Phoenix Clan drank wine and admired flowers with the Heavenly Lord's youngest son. Later, the two were found with their clothes in disarray... Long Lei and A Xia had been childhood friends. A Xia was to become a bride the next day, and Lei had come to celebrate her wedding. With the moon high overhead, A Xia told Lei she wanted to hear him sing as he played his sword one more time. Lei said he would begin after their final cup of wine. They drank together. A Xia played the qin, while Lei danced with his sword beneath the moon. His dance was dazzling, and A Xia grew dizzy and lightheaded with drink. Lei ran toward her. When they awoke, they were lying together with their clothes in disarray, seen by everyone. The incident caused an uproar across the Four Seas and Eight Wilds, and the wedding was naturally called off. The humiliation was too much for the Qilin Clan to bear, and the Heavenly Lord was furious as well. To give the Qilin Clan an explanation, he decreed that Xia would undergo ten thousand years of reincarnation in the mortal realm, while his own son would face the wall for all eternity. Strangely, after the decree was issued, the two vanished without a trace, only to mysteriously reappear some time later. Everything seemed to be proceeding as planned, but who could have guessed that the real contest would begin just as the ten thousand years of reincarnation were about to end...
