Thoughts Find Their Way Home

Also known as: “After Getting Pregnant, the Refined Mr. Zhou Begged Her to Look Back at Him”

[An aloof, refined business tycoon and a poor college student, happy ending]

[A scheming woman seduces him relentlessly VS a cold tycoon falls from his pedestal]

Once, Gu Yaoyao gazed at the man with clear, luminous eyes. “Zhou He, do you believe in karma?”

The man’s fingers curled slightly. He replied calmly, “Businessmen are fickle. Cause and effect follow their course, and everything has its appointed outcome. Profit comes first, in business and in love.”

The woman persisted, asking again with unwavering resolve, “Then do you believe in obsession?”

The man did not answer. A long silence followed.

The woman’s red lips curved into a sorrowful smile. A tear traced its way down her cheek, and she turned to leave.

“Clinging to one thought will trap you for life. Letting it go brings peace to your heart. There are so many things I can’t let go of. The things I’ve let go of are gone forever, while the things I want to fight for are forever beyond my grasp. I suppose this is my karma.”

Later, the man made a vow before the Buddha, beside a solitary lamp: first, may Yaoyao’s wishes all come true; second, may Yaoyao be reborn with her obsession intact; third, may cause and effect turn through another cycle.
