Dancing with Samael, the Poisonous Angel

Western fantasy • Steampunk • Cunning protagonist • A touch of one-to-many romance, with elegant, polished prose

The dark lord gazed at his flawless creation, a faint, barely perceptible smile of satisfaction crossing his face. He gently lifted the girl’s neck and leaned close to her ear, whispering:

“Time to wake up, little pig.”

She found herself in an unbelievable place, a warped space reminiscent of Salvador Dali’s painting The Persistence of Memory. She sat sideways atop a gigantic clock, its hour and minute hands pointing to strange, slightly distorted numbers.

The clock’s iron markings and hands suddenly came to life. With an unsettling grinding sound, they folded upward together, growing huge as they closed around Vera and imprisoned her, cutting her off from Mr. Rabbit. They formed an impenetrable iron barrier, like the bars between two neighboring prison cells.
