Golden finger setup: the Yin Seamster.
Ordinary Yin Seamsters have one ability: the burial clothes they make can alter the feng shui of the deceased person’s descendants, indirectly improving their fortune, status, and more.
But the male lead, Qin Qi, is a Ghost-Hand Yin Seamster, one who appears in the Qin family only once every seven generations. He has two abilities.
First, the burial clothes he makes can alter a living person’s fate in this world. He can control spirits and preserve in their burial clothes the lifespan, fortune, romantic luck, and other blessings they had left unused in the living world. The clothes then transfer these blessings directly to the living. This is the art of Yin Sewing, which changes the fate of the living in the present. The price is that Qin Qi must help the spirit who gave up its blessings accomplish certain things.
Second, the burial clothes he makes can be worn by ghosts and house spirits, allowing them to help him get things done. It’s similar to summoning the Guardian Spirits from Rakshasa Street, like Yanqing. The male lead can summon spirits to help him using their birth dates and times. At first, he can only summon ordinary people, such as elderly neighbors who died in his village, like Uncle Zhang and Auntie Li. Their main skills are scaring people and cursing, and they’re frail and endlessly talkative, so they only cause the male lead trouble. But over time, he can summon higher-ranking ghosts, like Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei. Eventually, he even summons the King of Qin and the Seven Warring States, ancestors of the male lead and his senior sisters, and finally unravels the ancient mystery surrounding him.
