“Hiss!”
A mouthful of icy Dongpeng slid over his tongue, but before he could savor the refreshing chill, the cold liquid struck Li Pu’s mouth like a knife, cutting across the flesh already ravaged by betel nut. He couldn’t help making a sound.
He glanced at the branch-shaped scraps in the ashtray beside him.
“This stuff is really harmful. I’m probably not far from oral cancer.”
Li Pu shook his head and continued clicking his mouse.
A little while later, his mouth felt dull again. He took a betel nut from his pocket and popped it in.
“Hiss!”
The dry, branch-like betel nut went into his mouth. The alkaloids soaked into it made his mouth sting, but the addictive rush made him bear the pain and keep chewing.
That’s the thing about addiction: it makes you debase yourself for whatever you’re hooked on.
Before long, a wave of warm, restless heat surged into Li Pu’s head. The slight sweat it brought on felt so good that he slumped back in his chair.
Okay, not bad
Too young and looks boring
