Tianhua Photography is the largest and most venerable studio in the country. It brings together a group of first-rate technicians who create countless works of art beloved by the public. At work and in their daily lives, the studio's employees experience stories filled with joy and sorrow.

Dai Tianqing, who works in the photo-coloring department, and her senior colleague Ma Honggang make a perfect team and achieve impressive results. Over the course of their long collaboration, sparks of love begin to fly.

As photography technology advances, many of the studio's classic techniques gradually lose their edge. After a slump in business, operational changes, and a change of manager, Tianhua Photography is eventually shut down by its parent company. In the face of adversity, Dai Tianqing and Ma Honggang keep searching for a way forward and finally make a successful comeback, restoring Tianhua Photography to its former glory. On the day the studio reopens, the two longtime lovers at last come together.
