After the protagonist Han Zhengpeng jumped to his death, he unexpectedly arrived in a world belonging to those who had died by suicide. People in this world retained all their memories from life and had no need to eat or drink, though they could still feel thirsty and hungry. They could fall in love, but could not have children. They could no longer die by suicide or self-harm, but would die permanently if killed by someone else or through old age, illness, or other natural causes. They also needed sunlight and rain to thrive, or they would eventually become walking corpses.
Normally, people would arrive in a place similar to where they had lived, while their bodies remained in the original world. But the Tree of Life in this world was destroyed by someone called the Mage of Annihilation, and the places where the dead arrived became random. Their bodies also began to disappear, and extreme phenomena started occurring across the world.
The Tree of Life was the most miraculous thing in this world. It provided a map to guide people on their journeys, and the Five Spirit Stones that granted skills powered by the five elements, as well as the seeds that could help people escape extreme climates and regions, all came from this tree.
After arriving in this world, Han Zhengpeng met Hu Tian and the others, including Hu Tian, who possessed the Water Spirit Stone, one of the Five Spirit Stones. To rescue Hu Tian's imprisoned master and defeat the Mage of Annihilation, they set out on an adventure battling all kinds of evil spirits.
