Twenty-six years ago, more than twenty newborn babies went missing in a fire at a hospital in Texas.

Ling Lu was adopted by the infertile Ling couple. A few years later, she gained a younger sister, Ling Xuan.

Her nightmarish childhood ended on her ninth birthday, when her maternal grandfather, Jian Jianming, took her to Yuncheng, where she met Zhou Tingyue.
