A proud, stubborn son of a poor family × a sunny, cheerful boy pretending to be a delinquent
Not long after the school year began, Li Jue got on the bad side of Zhao Siyuan, the notorious troublemaker in their grade.
Zhao Siyuan picked on him every day, putting on a villainous front. At first, Li Jue was on high alert. But gradually, he started to wonder... Was this really the way a school bully acted?
Hiding his homework, cutting in front of him in the lunch line, deliberately kicking his ball away in PE... Wasn't that the kind of thing little kids did?
Li Jue was fed up. Ignoring Zhao Siyuan only encouraged him to push his luck, and finally Li Jue couldn't take it anymore.
Then, one day, Zhao Siyuan crossed a line and really made Li Jue angry.
The two faced off, and Li Jue demanded an explanation. As he watched Zhao Siyuan stammer, an idea suddenly occurred to him. “You care so much about me. You bother me every day. Do you like me and want to get my attention?”
Zhao Siyuan: (stunned, turning red with anger) “Huh?”
Then Li Jue said scornfully, “Sorry, but give it up. I can't stand you.”
After that, Zhao Siyuan didn't bother Li Jue again for a long time.
Somehow, though, this little fiasco became a turning point that led Li Jue to slowly get to know Zhao Siyuan.
He saw things he'd never noticed before. Tears, pain... Beneath the mask was a Zhao Siyuan who was nothing like the person Li Jue had imagined: someone real, vulnerable, and sensitive.
“Li Jue...” Later, he heard Zhao Siyuan murmur, slightly drunk, “Don't hate me...”
Li Jue's heart suddenly softened.
“I don't hate you.”
I'll comment on it myself. This is the first novel I've written. It has many, many shortcomings, but I want to finish the story well. It carries many memories of my three years in high school. Even if the harvest is not very good, I will regard it as the most precious gift in my life.
