Synopsis

An entry in the “Bringing Ancient Texts to Life, Passing on the Love of Books” writing contest. Based on several stories from Notes from the Thatched Abode of Close Observations, it tells of Ji Xiaolan's journey through the imperial examinations and the many strange tales and amusing anecdotes about him. After he is exiled to Urumqi over the Lianghuai salt-licence case, the story follows what he sees and hears there, until he is eventually summoned back to the capital to help compile the Complete Library of the Four Treasuries.

New Writers, Come On In

It's so upsetting to keep seeing the stats barely change. The reader count doesn't go up at all, and there isn't a single comment. Hardly anyone reads the whole book, and by the last chapter, almost no one is still reading. New authors, let's support one another.
