The story follows Floyd Aykes as he develops emotions through a series of choices. He is a special being, a consciousness born directly from the crown, possessing nothing, no soul, no death. Under a certain coincidence, this consciousness independent of the world was re-given soul and life, but because of the existence of a certain rule, he was not allowed to give emotions. This makes him different from others and is also an important reason why he desires to have emotions. He knows because it is his choice, but he chooses to forget because only by living can he continue to choose.
