The God of the Lamp

Influenced by his parents, the protagonist Chen Lin chooses to study nursing and becomes a student nurse at a maternal and child health hospital. As he rotates through departments including the emergency room, obstetrics, and pediatrics, he experiences everything from resuscitating young patients and caring for mothers to treating rare childhood diseases and assisting in the operating room. He meets Ye Qing, a nurse; Dashan, a male head nurse; and Zhao Yuan, a male nursing aide. He also helps his childhood friend Lin Yang improve his nursing skills and become a male confinement nanny.

A series of encounters with the warmth and coldness of human nature, as well as life and death, gradually transforms him from an inexperienced student into a respected male nurse. He continues his studies while preparing for graduate school and civil service exams, eventually landing a job at a top-tier hospital and becoming a male head nurse, reaching the pinnacle of life.
