Taiwan's best storyteller and well-known director Wu Nien-zhen has created a touching work over the past 12 years. It is a life chronicle completed by director Wu Nien-zhen after experiencing the ups and downs and the greatest lows in life. He used words to write down the family members he misses most, the hometown he misses day and night, the friends he has made true love with throughout his life, and the most real touching moments in every corner of Taiwan. Those ordinary people, ordinary days, those quietly flowing fates have awakened our sleeping memories. At Nian Zhen's wedding, her mother, wearing a cheongsam and high heels she had never worn many times in her life, insisted on kneeling down a hundred times to thank God for blessing that "a mother like me can also raise a child who has graduated from college." The video was stretched out and watched in the sun while running; the technician and the middle school girl who were secretly in love faced each other on the bus, eating bread in silence; and the younger brother who brought humiliation to Nian Zhen and tried to save his face wrote a suicide note saying, "You have to take care of the family, thank you for your hard work, but being your younger brother and sister is also very hard."
This book also includes "Suicide Note", Wu Nianzhen's only novel in recent years, in which he writes his true confession and reluctance to his brother's departure from this world, and specially invites writer Lei Xiang to draw illustrations to see the wonderful sparks created by the two masters through pictures and texts.
Reader comments
Simple language expresses scenes of ordinary and realistic life, whether it is sadness, anger, or pity... Every emotion can affect people's emotions, and they sigh, what a pitiful era.
This book uses simple words to tell ordinary and true stories, which made me feel the ups and downs of life. The stories in the book are like micro-movies, full of warmth and touching. It reminds me of "The Ordinary World", which also tells the lives of ordinary people, but can make people feel the true meaning of life. I like books like this, they make me cherish the people around me more and know how to be grateful for every little blessing in life.
Our teacher asked us to read this book. We didn't read it at the time. We put it off until the end of the term. After reading it, I realized that I regretted not reading it earlier. It is really good. The detailed descriptions in it are shocking, and the dialogue between the characters is also very vivid. Every little story makes people sigh. In fact, I don't blame them. If I do, I blame the bad times. They lived too hard [crying]
The short story is written with a compact plot
Very good line drawing technique.
Life is like a dream
Although we have experienced all the dangers in the world, the most beautiful feelings of human nature are still as warm as the sun!
The stories touch people's hearts. Many stories will make your heart melt and give you a slap in the face. Reality is more bloody than fiction.
It's very down-to-earth, unlike mainland writers who care too much about word games, but this Taiwanese author cares about human nature, so I felt comfortable reading it and liked it very much.
The writing is so good that I cried several times because of the emotions in the book.
The characters in the story feel very vivid, reflecting the suffering life of the people at the bottom of the world at that time, but the relationship between people is very real and warm. Although life can be hard, truth, goodness and beauty are always there
