"The Last Days" is the sequel to Joseph Heller's "Catch-22". In addition to Yossarian, Milo, Priest and others in "Catch-22", it also adds Sammy, Liu and other characters who left a deep impression on readers. As they grow older, they no longer fight fascist fire, but disease and death. The black humor of "Catch-22" has been extended and broken through in this book, such as "the priest urinated heavily", "the extravagant wedding was held in a dirty station during the economic depression", "the president mistakenly released nuclear weapons while playing games"... The greed and hypocrisy of capitalism are clearly visible in Heller's absurdity and profundity.

This book continues Heller's black humor and made me feel the satire of capitalism while laughing. The absurd scenes described in the book, such as "the priest peeing heavy water", are really funny. Moreover, as the characters grow older, what they fight is no longer artillery fire, but disease and death, which makes me think more about life. All in all, this is a book well worth reading.
