The conflict between "I" as a father and husband, and "I" as a mother and wife are intensifying. "I" is convinced that his wife wants to destroy "I"'s hope and belief in life, but my wife fully accepts such a weak "I"... Short chapters, dense writing, self and reason pull each other, penetrating the shadow of death before the desperate situation of life.
This book collects a total of thirteen idiosyncratic works by Dazai Osamu in his later years, covering short stories, female monologues and ideological essays, showing the author's unique ideological style in his later years.

This book is very much in the style of Osamu Dazai. The family conflicts in the book reminded me of "The Setting Sun". Also describing family, Dazai Osamu can always express the delicate emotions well, just like the families of some friends around me. They seem calm, but in fact there are undercurrents. Moreover, this book also includes some of his short stories and essays, which gave me a more comprehensive understanding of Osamu Dazai's writing style. All in all, highly recommended!
