This book is very inspiring! Mr. Zhu Guangqian explained the history of Western aesthetics clearly and thoroughly, so that even a person who doesn't know much about aesthetics can understand it. Moreover, the content in the book is very rich, from ancient Greece and Rome to modern Europe and America, which gave me a more comprehensive understanding of the development of Western aesthetics. However, I kind of hate those complicated theories, it's a bit hard to read. This reminds me of the struggle I had when preparing for a wedding, and being hesitant among various choices. But like this book, a deeper dive may lead to clearer direction. Recommended to friends who are interested in aesthetics!
