This book truly shows the cruelty of rural life and the resilience of people. Xiao Hong's words are very powerful and made me feel the helplessness of people of that era regarding life and death. This reminds me of Yu Hua's "To Live". Both books describe the suffering of life, but they also allow people to see hope in them. The characters in the book are all very vivid, just like the friends around me, making me worried about their fate. Xiao Hong is really an amazing writer!
As mentioned in the beginning, the strength of life and the struggle of death. The beginning of the story is very depressing, but the end of the story has a sad light. [Like][Like]
Maybe it's because of the time difference, the literary works from 80 or 90 years ago, in the early days of vernacular writing we modern people couldn't understand what we couldn't understand!
