Spring City is home to four great families with histories spanning more than a century. They compete with one another yet depend on one another, and have long upheld a tradition of arranged marriages. The Ren family in the south of the city and the Xu family in the west have reached the generation of Ren Nini and Xu Jingyi. One loves with a consuming passion, while the other is a little bird longing to break free and soar. Could their story have an unexpected ending?

Luo Linyang has been determined to serve his country since childhood. He applied to a military academy for his college entrance exams, then joined the army after graduating to find his own place in it.
