Legend of Spirit Cultivation Valley

Yuze and Nanfeng are two disciples of Celestial Venerable Hongshi. On their way back from an exorcism, the two stumble upon a secret realm left behind from the Six Realms War ten thousand years ago. There, Nanfeng obtains the ancient weapon of the God of War Yanzheng, the Eighteen Heavenly Dipper Halberds, while Yuze finds a serpent egg that has been sealed away for over ten thousand years.

The serpent egg has spent so long in darkness that it has almost lost all its spiritual energy. Unable to bear losing it, Yuze and his senior brother Nanfeng go through countless twists and turns to obtain a divining spirit herb, finally awakening the young serpent. After hatching, it takes Yuze as its master and stays by his side every day, bringing comfort to a childhood marked by misfortune.

Later, while they are out exploring the mortal world, the young serpent is captured by a fox demon and locked in an ice cellar, its life hanging in the balance. Yuze lights nine eternal lamps for his disciple. When the last lamp goes out, his heart sinks to the depths. To save her, he exhausts his lifelong cultivation and lights one final eternal lamp. Later, to save Yuze, his senior brother Nanfeng escorts him to the lower realm several times so he can be reincarnated. At last, after seven lifetimes and thirteen tribulations, Yuze and his disciple meet again. But fate is cruel: in the end, one is wounded, one dies, and one falls to demonic cultivation.
