A Kingdom for a Bride: The Beauty’s Graceful Steps

A roguishly charming flirt, the tone-deaf God of War of the Northern Dynasty x A cool, unexpectedly adorable beauty, the peerless dancer and princess of the Southern Dynasty Prince Jing, who holds power over the entire court, has a well-known secret: he is tone-deaf. When he plays the zither, the strings snap; when he plays the se, the instrument cracks. His flute makes no sound, so he switches to the xiao, which makes a noise that shakes the heavens. There’s even a quiet rumor going around that a single tune from this God of War of the Northern Dynasty can drive away ghosts and evil spirits. The palace musicians once knelt before the hall, banging their heads on the ground and weeping as they begged him never to play music again. The always arrogant Prince Jing raises an eyebrow. “What’s the big deal? Fine, I’ll stop learning!” He tossed away his instruments and kept his word for years, until he married Bu Pin, a princess of the Southern Dynasty renowned for her dancing, sent to the Northern Dynasty to seal a political alliance. He’d heard that women of the Southern Dynasty were skilled dancers, and that after marriage, their husbands often accompanied them with music. Prince Jing licked one of his little tiger teeth. Then he picked up the suona. * “I know I’m vulgar and shameless, with blood on my hands, no refinement, and no sense of pitch. I’m not the sort of elegant gentleman you like.” “But I still want to ask: for the sake of the kingdom I offer and the grand bridal procession, would Sui Sui deign to become my empress?” PS: A touch of court intrigue, a lively and lighthearted tone, a sweet-and-angsty plot that shifts at random, and plenty of satisfying face-slapping.
