Open or closed, it’s all in the past is my debut novel, and I’ve been writing it on and off for many years. I started at the youngest age, faced all sorts of difficulties, and spent countless nights reflecting on every encounter and every vivid memory. I think all of it deserves to be recorded. I’ve always had one inescapable tie: the past. That’s right, it became a hurdle I could never get over. I tried to let it drift away with my memories, but no matter what, it follows me like a shadow. How could I not think of the past when the traces of time are everywhere in life? That’s the feeling that comes over me whenever something brings back a memory, like a sudden rush of blood to the head, a little jolt. My mind has always been a mess, like an unsorted cloud drive. So I decided to try to put things in order, so my past would no longer be a pile of sand that crumbles the moment I pick it up, but a one-of-a-kind book of my own, neatly arranged and always by my side.
In the end, I hope that as you turn to the next page, you’ll get ready, close your eyes, adjust your breathing, and slowly step into my memories. Starting with taste, you’ll smell the fragrance of osmanthus, my favorite flower. Then you’ll see me, that naive, bewildered child. And then…
Hope you all like it
