Longing for You: If Only Longing Could Be Understood

[Not writing a pure-love warrior /(⁄ ⁄ ⁄ω⁄ ⁄ ⁄). Having fun writing is what matters most]

How can I put this heartache to rest when our love remains unfinished?

When everything had finally settled, the news of your death was like a poisoned needle in my heart. The wound seemed small, yet it reached deep within me. I could neither pull the needle out nor heal the wound. I can’t say what love is, what gratitude is, or what affection is. But I know that only you were the poison that took root in me from the very beginning, when I loved you without even knowing it.

In this life, this time, I’ll stay by your side: Xiang Liu.

In this story, Xiao Yao still doesn’t know, just as in her previous life, how deeply Xiang Liu loved her. Their final memories together weren’t exactly happy ones, either. But as longing for the dead gradually grows in the face of love and affection, there’s no need to look for proof of whether Xiang Liu loved her. As long as Xiao Yao is certain of her own feelings, everything becomes clear. Let her repay in this life what she owed in the last.

“If I had saved you, I would have let you live only as Fangfeng Bei: a free and carefree Fangfeng Bei, owing no one gratitude or affection, with no responsibilities, no obligations, and no burdens.”
