A Nian's Moonlight

One day, Zhang, the head eunuch of the Eastern Palace, got into a fight with the palace eunuchs. With a bruised and swollen face, Zhang stood aggrieved before the Crown Prince. Looking at him as if he were asking for a beating, the prince smiled and asked, “Why did you fight?” “Your Highness, it’s because they insulted you first.” “What did they say?” Zhang stammered, forcing the words out one by one. “Th-they said you like men, and that you like Eunuch Jiang.” After hearing this, Li Zheng neither hit nor scolded him. Instead, he seemed delighted. One day, the Crown Prince arranged to meet Jiang Yi in the garden and confessed his feelings to his young eunuch. Jiang Yi grew nervous. Could His Highness really be attracted to men? Li Zheng walked up to Jiang Yi, wrapped an arm around his waist, and gazed at him tenderly. “I want to try a love that should never have happened.” Ignoring Jiang Yi’s struggles, Li Zheng cupped his face and leaned in to kiss him. “Please don’t, Your Highness! I’m a man. You can’t do this.” Does that mean you can’t confess to someone you can never be with? If you simply convey your feelings sincerely, the warmth it brings is no less than love. The memory of being loved might become the strength that helps someone keep going for the rest of their life. “Even if the whole world freezes over, I will never stop loving you. Once I hold on, I’ll never let go.”
